Does Cricut™ come with a warranty?

What is the size and weight of the Cricut™?

It is portable and easy to tote with a packaged dimension of 16.8"x11.1"X8.6" and weighing a feather-light 9 pounds.

What is its range of cutting capability?

It will easily cut 12 different sizes ranging from a tiny intricate 1" to a much larger 5 1/2" tall and up to 11.5 inches in length.

What materials will it cut?

Many materials up to .5mm thick like paper, card stock, vellum, window cling, magnet material, fabric paper, iron on patches, some fabrics (when "heat and bond" is used on the back of the fabric), stenciling materials, vinyl for your phrases and wall art, some pre-pasted wall papers, you can even cut and create your own stamps with Cricut™… the list goes on.

Does the Cricut™ need power to work?

Yes. It is a portable unit that will conveniently plug into any grounded 120 wall outlet.

Does it require a computer to use?

No. It is self contained and operated. No computer is required; however, you may choose to use your computer and the NEW "Cricut™ design studio" program to turn your Cricut™ cartridge art into new and different images. The choice is yours.

How does it cut images?

Cricut™ is fun and easy to use.  Open the front and place your favorite cartridge in the lower right corner cartridge slot. Place the matching key pad overlay on your key pad.  Turn your Cricut™ power button on, select you image, select your size and simply press cut.  It's that easy. The green blade housing (which hold your blade in place) will move along your cutting mat to cut the image you selected.

Does Cricut™ come with cartridges, or do we need to purchase them separately?

Your purchase today comes with two cartridges: the George and Basic Shapes Cartridge which is classic designer font along with a variety of shapes and images to get you started. The Cricut™ sampler cartridge is loaded with some of our favorite images from 10 of our leading cartridges to provide you with a sampling of all their fun and creative art. You will LOVE the sampler cartridge too- and this is your special gift just for ordering through the infomercial. The Sampler cartridge can not be purchased anywhere else and you would have to buy 10 different cartridges to get the images contained in Sampler.

How big are the cartridges?

Each cartridge contains 2000 to 6500+ cuttable image options. There are at least 100-200 unique images that can be done in 2-6 creative features in 12 different sizes. Thus, creating thousands of cuttable options to provide you with endless possibilities.

How do I get additional mats and blades?

They are available at your nearest Cricut™ retailer.

How do we get additional cartridges?

They are available at your nearest Cricut™ retailer.

How do I register for my warranty?

Fill in the warranty card that is included with your package and send in to the address on the card. Or go to www.Cricut™.com and register your machine on line. While visiting the web site to register your machine; you will want to also join the FREE Cricut™ community. This membership is wonderful; people all over the world share their ideas and projects made with Cricut™. You will love being a part of this unique creative community of artists.

How often do I need to replace the cutting mat?

Cutting mat life varies depending on what you cut and how well you keep your mats covered.  Typically they will last up to 40 full page cuts.  That is up to 40 sheets of 6 X 12 paper loaded with cut images.

How long will the blade last?

The blade life varies depending on what you cut.  Each blade is designed to last over 1000 full image cuts.

What is the Cricut™ Expression? 

It is another member of the Cricut™ family.  This electronic cutter will cut images from ¼ in to 23.5 inches high or wide.  It will use all of the cartridges that the Cricut™ original can use.  You get one 12 X 12 cutting mat with the machine and can purchase 12 X 24 mats at your local Cricut™ retailer.  If you would like to purchase this machine today, please note that it does NOT come with the spatula tool, the sampler cartridge, the George cartridge, the trimmer, or the blades..  However, you will received the Plantin school book cartridge, the EXCLUSIVE potpourri basket cartridge (LOADED with images from 10 of our newer cartridges to get you started creating cards, scrapbooks, home décor, gifts, posters, school projects, and so much more), you'll receive a 12 X 12 cutting mat, 1 blade, the how to DVD.

What type of paper does it use?

 

Virtually any paper up to .5mm.  HOWEVER, NEVER use construction paper on your Cricut™ cutting mats. This paper is so loosely made that it has thousands of tiny fibers that will be left behind on your cutting mat; virtually destroying it in just one use. You can purchase any other crafting paper at any department store or craft retailer. 

How much are extra mats and where do I get them? 

Mats usually sell for around $9.99 for 2 mats.  You can get them at any Cricut™ retailer or at www.creativexpress.com

What are Cricut™ inks?

They are easy-to-use felt markers designed to be placed into the cradle of your Cricut™.  You simply remove your blade housing, insert your ink tip down, tighten the screw on your cradle and you are ready to begin writing/ creating with Cricut™.  You can draw images, outline your cuts, create embroidery or needlework patterns, create custom coloring books for your children and so much more.

What is the Cricut™ design studio?

The Cricut™ Design StudioTM is a special program interface that you can use with your computer to tweak, meld, weld… and of the art from your Cricut™ cartridges to literally create a NEW look or design that your Cricut™ Personal Electronic or Expression will then cut for you. You can use any of the cartridges from the Cricut™ library. Your Cricut™ cutting systems DO NOT require a computer-but, for those who want to use theirs; the Cricut™ Design Studio is the answer to unleashing even more of your creative power!
